This is a small release, but it adds experimental support for Android, there where Flash is supported and installed (Android version 2.2 aka Froyo). As with the iPhone/iPod touch support, this is not a native app or mobile interface; it’s the same old pulpTunes web app you’ll find in your desktop browser. Not very mobile friendly, but it works, and you’ll still be able to listen to your music on the road!
Also, very important, is that the iPad is now recognized. Before this update you would have seen your typical “Flash not available” kinda error, but now it’ll behave just as with the iPhone. Still the same desktop browser interface, but on the iPad this is really nice. Although I’ll have to figure out for a future version a way to replace the functions accessed through the right-click context menu, which of course can’t be reached in these platforms.
Finally, I’ve installed some nice piece of software in the website to keep track of the bugs, feature requests and roadmap. Still empty at the moment though: http://pulptunes.com/tasks
Here’s the change log for this version:
- Added iPad and Android support.
- Updated Italian, German and Portuguese languages.
- Added support for pulpShuffle.
- In the iPhone, the initial song page wasn’t loading.
